The Perfect Palm Beach Girls’ Getaway: Hotels, Restaurants & Things to Do

The Perfect Palm Beach Girls’ Getaway: Hotels, Restaurants & Things to Do

A Girls’ Weekend in Palm Beach, Florida

We just got back from the most fun girls’ weekend in Palm Beach celebrating Sarah’s 40th birthday, and while it was quick, it was absolutely worth it.

We flew out Friday morning and were back in Atlanta by Sunday afternoon. The entire trip felt like a blur in the best possible way. We all agreed we would have loved one more day, but sometimes the shortest trips end up being the sweetest.

Between the sunshine, incredible food, beautiful scenery, and nonstop laughter, Palm Beach completely charmed us.

Where We Stayed: The Colony Hotel

We stayed at The Colony Hotel, and if you’re looking for a hotel that feels effortlessly chic, colorful, and quintessentially Palm Beach, this is it.

Founded in the 1940s, The Colony has hosted countless notable guests over the years, including members of the Kennedy family and many other well-known visitors. From the iconic pink exterior to the beautifully designed interiors, every corner feels like something straight out of a magazine.

Everything about The Colony feels feminine, elegant, and fun. It was the perfect home base for our girls’ weekend.

Pool Day & Dinner at Del Mar

After spending our first afternoon relaxing by the pool, we headed to Del Mar for dinner.

If you’re visiting Palm Beach, here are my recommendations:

Appetizer: Red Snapper Ceviche (10/10)

Entrée: Lobster Spaghetti (10/10)

Dessert: Frozen Greek Yogurt with Olive Oil Cake

Trust me on this one. The frozen Greek yogurt comes with a small slice of olive oil cake, and somehow the combination is absolutely incredible.

Exploring Palm Beach

Saturday morning, we borrowed bikes from The Colony and spent the day exploring Palm Beach.

One of my favorite things about the area is how easy it is to get around. We rode through beautiful neighborhoods, admired the stunning homes, and spent time browsing the shops along Worth Avenue.

We especially loved wandering through the art galleries. Even if you’re not planning to purchase anything, they’re beautiful to browse and make for such a fun way to spend an afternoon.

Later that day, one of the incredibly kind concierges from The Colony took us on a drive through some of Palm Beach’s most famous neighborhoods. We got to see Billionaire Row and Mira Lago, and honestly, it was fascinating. The homes are absolutely breathtaking. It’s hard to wrap your mind around the scale, architecture, and history behind some of these estates. Seeing some of the most spectacular homes in America was definitely one of the highlights of the trip.

A Hidden Gem: Raptis Rare Books

Without question, our favorite stop of the weekend was Raptis Rare Books.

Calling it a bookstore doesn’t quite do it justice. It feels more like a museum filled with extraordinary books, many displayed in glass cases. We had the opportunity to meet the owner, who was incredibly kind and even signed a copy of one of his books for us.

One thing I loved most about this trip was the people. We made a point to strike up conversations wherever we went, and those unexpected interactions ended up becoming some of our favorite memories. We met so many interesting people throughout the weekend, and it reminded me how much joy can come from simply being willing to start a conversation.

Dinner at The Seafood Bar at The Breakers

On Saturday evening, we had dinner at The Seafood Bar inside The Breakers Hotel

The setting alone is worth the visit. Between the ocean views and the grandeur of the hotel, it felt like such a classic Palm Beach experience.

A quick tip: The Seafood Bar doesn’t take reservations, but don’t let that scare you away. We only waited about 15 minutes and actually enjoyed the people-watching while we waited.

What We Ordered:

Cocktail: Coconut Mojito

Divine. That’s the review.

Appetizer: Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup (10/10)

I dare you to Google a picture of it. It’s one of the prettiest presentations I’ve ever seen, and somehow it tastes even better than it looks.

Entrée: Pecan-Crusted Grouper

Absolutely out of this world. If I went back tomorrow, I’d order it again without hesitation.

And then came the funniest moment of the weekend…

After dinner, we wandered into one of the grand ballrooms and became convinced there was a wedding taking place. We spent several minutes trying to spot the bride before finally realizing there wasn’t one.

Turns out it wasn’t a wedding at all.

It was an allergy conference. 😂 we decided to tear up the dance floor and enjoy the live music with our “coworkers”! We livened up the party, and I think they were genuinely happy we were there 😂😂😂

Final Thoughts

By Sunday morning, it was time to head to the airport and make our way home.

The trip may have been short, but it was filled with laughter, meaningful conversations, delicious food, beautiful scenery, and the kind of friend time that fills your cup long after you return home.

Palm Beach has a way of making everyday life feel a little more glamorous, a little more colorful, and a little slower. We left wishing we had one more day, but grateful for every moment we got to spend there.

If you’ve been considering a girls’ getaway, Palm Beach deserves a spot at the top of your list.
